Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow Eye Enhancer in Almond ($29)= £20.00
Matte eyeshadows can be a bear to blend, but this golden brown spreads like buttah. Would-be jewel thieves might not like how readily the gunmetal compact captures their fingerprints, but the rich color and smooth texture more than make up for it, barring an arrest. It’s definitely a splurge, but it’s not a bad one to make.

Burberry Beauty Light Glow Natural Blush in Russet ($41) =£27.00

A definitive blush, and like the eyeshadow, this warm reddish peach, with its subtle golden glitter, seems to melt into my skin. It’s awfully spendy for a blush, but if you’re a girl who likes her luxury makeup and wears just one or two blush colors often, it might be worth the plunge.

Burberry Beauty Soft Satin Lipstick in Nude Beige ($30)=£20.00

WOW! Burberry did not hold back when they scented this lipstick. There’s something old lady/Miss Havisham from Great Expectations about it; my nose detects can’t miss the strong notes of baby powder, along with a spoonful of wealth and “maturity” thrown in for good measure (unflavored, though). Super pigmented, Nude Beige feels smooth on my lips, but the color only lasts about an hour before I have to reapply. For sure, I like this more for the packaging than the product itself. That said, the side detailing on the bullet and its cap, which has a smart magnetic closure, are kinda gorgeous.

Burberry Beauty Eye Definer Eye Shaping Pencil in Midnight Brown ($27)=£18.00

A dark brown with subtle golden glitter, the tip of this pencil feels hard but applies smooth. The formula layers and blends easily beneath powder shadows, and it grasps my lash line for somewhere between four and six hours. On my waterline, however, it fades quickly, completely disappearing in less than an hour.

Burberry Beauty Sheer Foundation in Trench No. 05 ($52)=£35.00

Okay, this might be an Asian thing, but does anyone else remember Pearl Cream (“made from real crushed pearls!”)? It was a face cream popular in the ’80s? My mom and aunts always had a jar in their medicine cabinets. So, this foundation has that same strong talcum powdery Pearl Cream scent, ha! It’s uncanny! Anywho, the sample I tested, Trench No. 5, is a warm light beige and sooo not my color, but I wore it around the house for fun. It offers sheer coverage and feels feather light on the skin, almost like a tinted moistaturizer.

BLOND OR  BRONDE !!!! Brunettes Go “Bronde” to Lighten Up This Summer!!!!

Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Lopez and Natalie Portman are all recent bronde converts. If its good for them sure hell it must be good for you too right?.

A perfect hybrid of blonde and brown, bronde is the newest — and most natural — look for dark-haired beauties who want to share in the sun-kissed summer fun, and look a few years younger while they’re at it.

Natalie Portman, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Lopez and most recently Miley Cyrus, have been spotted with this lighter bronde hue — a term that’s become popular in the last few years to personify that not-quite-blonde, not-quite-brunette tone that “Glamour” first reported in November 2007 in response to the economic downturn, while at the same time brilliantly describing supermodel Gisele Bundchen’s much-coveted hair hue.

“Women who might normally lighten their hair all over are going for a darker base shade with more highlights, so what you get is something that’s part blond, part brown, or “brond,” said Beth Shapouri in a recap of the article on “Glamour’s” Girls in the Beauty Department blog. But this summer, it’s the other way around; rather than blondes trying to save cash, the bronde trend is now being driven by brunettes in search of a flattering summer shade that can shave years off your look.

Gisele Bundchen is the quintessential bronde.

“Women are always asking me, ‘What makes me look younger?’”, celebrity colorist and “Sheer Genius” judge, Kim Vo told StyleList. Blonde hair dye mixed with a flattering tint of brown gives brunettes what he thinks is the most versatile color, regardless of age.Because Vo says women have become “blonderexic” — a Vo-ism that describes someone who has too much blonde for their own good — he says this warmer hue works better with our darker, natural coloring. It also helps us avoid the number one mistake that brunettes make: orange highlights. “Highlights like that remind me of tiger strips,” Vo says. The key is to lighten the locks more subtly by painting select layers on top of the hair with two different volumes of color lifting creams. This ultimately gives darker hair more depth and dimension without looking like you’re trying to be the blonde you’re not. Its warmer highlights are also the most forgiving according to Vo because they work on all skin types and hair textures.

“I was inspired by memories of my childhood on the beaches in France,” says Vo who believes this look is as casual and natural as you want it to be.Once colored, Vo recommends protecting your locks with a glaze. “It seals in color, adds a diamond-like radiance and shine and creates the perfect ‘date night’ hair. It’s one of my favorite products!” Just like blonde is now one of his favorite colors.

“If blonde and brunette had a love child, it would be bronde,” Vo adds. “It’s the way to go!”

Aside from this new color option, see another reason why it’s great to be a brunette!please leave a comment Chow !!!!

Scott Barnes is known for giving Jennifer Lopez her distinctive look, and he’s worked with just about every celebrity you can imagine . He’s particularly known for his incredible ability to make skin luminous and seemingly perfect, so I was pretty excited when I heard he was publishing his own book, About Face ($18). To find out whether the book lived up to expectations, just read more/About Face is predominantly concerned with technique. Scott details his methods and transforms women from different age groups and with a wide variety of skin tones. However, if you don’t know what shade “wine” is or how to use a few makeup brushes, you might want to study up before you dive in. This is a professional-quality book, and it doesn’t hold your hand — I found myself looking up a few things as I read. The Googling is worth it, though, and I came away with a bevy of routine-changing tips.

Scott’s system for contouring is also amazing and well worth reading about; you’ll learn things about makeup colors that will blow your mind. The photos are also gorgeous, and it’s the sort of book that’s nice to have on the shelf for guests to flip through. There’s also at least one look for almost every woman in here, so unlike many makeup books, you’re not likely to take a peek inside and see no one who looks like you. Overall, this comes highly recommended if you love new application techniques and are a total junkie. If you’re more a minor makeup dilettante, you might have some trouble parsing it (although you’ll still pick up a lot of tips). And if you have no interest in makeup whatsoever, then I kind of wonder why you’re reading this site, let alone thinking about reading this book.

Bella sugar interview with Scott

Among makeup artists, Scott Barnes’s work is instantly recognizable: fresh, glowing women who exude confidence and usually sport a fierce (faux) tan. He’s the man behind Jennifer Lopez’s iconic look, the creator of Body Bling, and he’s worked on everybody in the biz. Now, in a new book called About Face, Scott reveals his techniques and creates beautiful looks for women of all skin tones, textures, and ages.To find out what the maestro had to say about getting a great look, just keep reading.
What’s the best makeup look for Spring?
Almost ice-cream pale shades. If you’re going to do eye shadow, it should be soft, and blushes should be really soft, too. It’s a time of rebirth, so I say, “You know what? Let’s look fresh.”What’s the best way for a woman who has minimal time to incorporate some of your principles into her daily makeup application? There’s a chapter in the book, with a woman named Linda, that’s about exactly that. I always tell people that at minimum, the easiest way to pull your look together is by curling your eyelashes, then applying a beautiful mascara — I like Cover Girl. Use eye drops to really brighten up your eyes; one of my favorite brands in the world is Naphcon-A because they last up to 12 hours and they’re lubricating, so they don’t dry out your eyes like a Visine does. Then, throw on a lip gloss.
What are your tricks for getting a great eyelash curl?
I take the tips of my eyelash curlers and rub them back and forth between my fingers to make them a little warmer — it makes it easier than when they’re cold. The Shu Uemura eyelash curler is the best curler on the market, because it has a round bumper as opposed to a square bumper, which crimps the lashes instead of curling them.
How do you fake perfect skin?
I’m always a big fan of using cream foundations. They seem to work best for me, and you get the best results from them. You can control the coverage where you need it in case you have some problem areas. It also has a tendency to keep that dewy, fresh look of perfect skin without being too heavy. The book talks about your great facial relaxation techniques — do you have any other quick pressure points or massage strokes to help women get the Scott Barnes glow?Underneath your eyes next to your nostrils is a really good one. Especially this time of year with all the dry heat, people tend to be a little more congested there. So pushing there really helps to open it and flush that, which will then take away some puffiness and make your face look a little bit thinner and more relaxed. We hold so much tension in our faces, and that has a tendency to make us look a little bit harder, so you always want to soften.
How did you decide to write About Face?
There’s a quote in the book from Maya Angelou that says “Each of us has that right, that possibility, to invent ourselves daily. If a person does not invent herself, she will be invented.” And that’s really the truth. So you have to take control of your own beauty and your own health. That’s what prompted me to write the book, as opposed to beauty for beauty’s sake.
